Ukrainians invited to EU’s Young Elected Politicians program for the first time
For the first time, Ukrainian youth were chosen to take part in the Young Elected Politicians 2023 program.
Rubryka reports this.
Alina Mykhaylova, deputy of Kyiv City Council of the 9th convocation, and Kateryna Musienko, deputy of Kremenchuk City Council, have already been invited to participate in the program. Later, the names of several more participants will become known.
This year, the program invites young local and regional politicians from EU candidate countries, including Ukraine, for the first time.
The Young Elected Politicians program is a network of young politicians under 40 who have been elected to regional or local authorities. More than 500 young politicians have joined the network since its creation in 2019.
The program provides an opportunity to create a network of contacts between local and regional representatives, exchange best practices, get information about EU legislation and funding opportunities, contribute to the work of the Committee of the Regions, and get to know its employees.
The selected candidates will have the opportunity to participate in activities and events of the Committee of Regions, particularly in plenary meetings and various educational and informational events.
