Solutions to win: Ukraine's postal service raises funds for army with audio postcards narrating stories of soldiers and volunteers
"Ukrposhta" released a series of audio postcards with the stories of the heroes of our time, recorded in their voices.
The company reported that on Facebook.
What is the problem?
The Ukrainian army is known to actively employ not only attack and reconnaissance drones but also consumer drones in the war launched by Russia.
Unmanned aerial vehicles have assisted the Ukrainian military in tracking enemies and rescuing thousands of defenders; however, there is a significant shortage of such vehicles at the front.
What is the solution?
On July 1, the General Staff, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the UNITED24 platform announced the start of the "Army of Drones" project. This comprehensive program includes the systematic purchase of drones, their repair and operational replacement, and a pilot training course.
"Ukrposhta" also actively participated in helping Ukrainian defenders. During the war, the company produced many series of stamps highlighting events in Ukraine during the war.
To support Ukrainian soldiers, "Ukrposhta" has released audio postcards containing stories of individuals who are heroic figures in our present day, all captured in their voices.
How does it work?
The heroes of these audio postcards are fighters, volunteers, musicians, journalists, and critical infrastructure workers, the company reports.
"There are QR codes on the postcards that will lead to the audio story of the hero or heroine from the image, namely the commander of the "Azov" regiment, Denys Prokopenko, volunteer Tata Kepler, fighter Kateryna "Ptashka" Polishchuk," the institution notes.
Stories may be also heard from:
- volunteer Ihor Lachenkov,
- military officer Oleksandr Budek (call sign "Teren"),
- and fighter pilot Vadym Voroshilov (call sign "Karaya").
"You will also hear the voices of people saving lives, restoring power grids and traffic, providing postal and transportation services," the company adds.
A total of 12 "Hero Cards" with 14 stories of famous Ukrainians are available for sale.
Twelve illustrators created audio postcards.
Each recreated visual images of people and their stories in their own style. In particular, the postcard with the commander of the "Azov" regiment, Denys Prokopenko, was drawn and voiced by his wife, Kateryna, who is also the head of the Association of Families of Defenders of Azovstal NGO.
"Each of the stories will make you cry. But we promise it will be from a sense of pride, belonging, and the conviction that "I can still do it" in the darkest times. Their words fill, support, and awaken new strength within you," Ukrposhta added.
"Postcards of Heroes" may be purchased from Ukrposhta central offices or online for the price of UAH 40 each.
All profits will be transferred to purchasing drones for Ukraine's armed forces.
