At the meeting, aside from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Finance Minister Christian Lindner, Economic Cooperation and Development Minister Svenja Schulze, and Interior and Community Minister Nancy Faeser were all present.
Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted that this type of gathering was unprecedented and in agreement with the strong bond that has been formed between the two nations. He thanked the German government and all the attendants for their useful and comprehensive help to Ukraine since the commencement of Russian aggression.
After informing the German security cabinet of the circumstances at the front and the Ukrainian military's essential requirements, the country's leader strongly urged the elimination of boundaries and prohibitions concerning supplying all sorts of armaments to Ukraine.
Addressing the Federal Chancellor, the President noted a fundamentally new character of bilateral relations.
"Since February 24 last year, with the "change of epochs," as you so aptly put it, relations between our countries have changed profoundly. From providing Ukraine with humanitarian aid to receiving the most modern air defense systems, artillery, infantry fighting vehicles, and battle tanks," he emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the Chancellor for his personal role in these transformations and expressed hope for Germany's leadership in forming the air coalition.
The head of state praised the Federal Government's decision to allocate 17 billion euros towards the purchase of military supplies needed by Ukraine up to 2032.
A variety of matters about two–way collaboration were discussed in detail. Particular focus was placed on providing safety for Ukraine and fostering cooperation in this area; Germany's participation in rebuilding Ukraine, which includes the private sector's part in the procedure, and working together for Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic unification.
The parties considered key areas of cooperation in the international arena, including Germany's involvement in the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and the organization of the Global Peace Summit, assistance in implementing the Black Sea Grain Initiative, and the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program.
