On 14 May, it became known that five civilians were killed in the Kherson region by explosives left by the Russian army.

The tragedy occurred at an agricultural facility in the village of Myroliubivka, Novovorontsovka district.

An unexploded munition detonated.

According to the authorities, the youngest victim was 27 years old, and the oldest was 68.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service has repeatedly urged civilians not to drive on unknown or untested dirt roads, as well as not to visit forests, forest strips, and fields, especially those where battles occurred or which were under Russia's control.

Southern regions are one of the most mined areas in the world. Human Rights Watch called on Ukraine to investigate the landmine use. Ukraine had reported a stockpile of more than 3 million mines that had yet to be destroyed under its treaty obligations.
