Ukrainian army makes progress on Bakhmut front – commander of ground forces
Ukraine's armed forces are advancing in separate directions on the Bakhmut front.
The commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that on Telegram.
"The defensive operation on the Bakhmut front continues.
Our soldiers are moving forward in some areas of the front," Syrskyi said.
The commander added that the Russians are "losing equipment and human power."
It should be noted that British intelligence also emphasized the advance of Ukrainian soldiers in Bakhmut and the withdrawal of Russian troops.
Fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regained at least one kilometer of territory in the southern part of Bakhmut.
"During the last four days, units of the 72nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of Russia probably disorganized their positions on the southern flank of the Bakhmut front," British experts noted.
The intelligence points out that this area has some tactical significance, as it was a Russian bridgehead on the western side of the Donetsk-Donbas canal, which marks the front line in some parts of the sector.
Notably, the 72nd Infantry Brigade is a component of the 3rd Army Corps of Russia, which was established in the autumn of 2022 and has been the subject of accusations regarding its low morale and combat effectiveness.

Recently, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the Ukrainian military advanced 2 km in the direction of Bakhmut and also did not lose a single position in the last week.
