Ukraine embarks a new project to rehabilitate 25,000 children
Ukraine's government launches a new project in the field of organizing rehabilitation and recreation for children in need of special social attention and support.
It introduces the principle "money follows the child." Children's recreation and rehabilitation centers will receive funds for the recreation of each particular child.
What is the solution?
"Now such an approach will be introduced for the rehabilitation and recreation of children with disabilities, children from large and low-income families registered in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions. In total, 25,000 children in need of special social support will be provided with recreation and leisure services this year."
How does it work?
The Ministry of Social Policy emphasizes that parents of children in the corresponding categories will be notified by email of the right to receive funds for health and recreation services.
This money can be used to purchase a ticket for a child's recovery or rest in one of the higher category camps located in the Carpathian region (Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi, Ternopil regions).
The project will start on June 1. Children aged 7-18 will take part in it.
The ministry plans to rehabilitate about 25,000 children this year with state funds.
