Irish forces start training Ukrainian troops in demining and bomb disposal
Irish troops have started training Ukrainian armed forces in bomb disposal and demining, The Irish Times report.
The training is part of the EU Military Assistance Mission Ukraine, under which Ukrainian forces receive military training from member states to aid in repelling the aggression.
Ireland has committed to sending up to 30 Defense Forces personnel to take part in training in areas such as ordnance disposal and combat medicine.
Irish forces are already in Cyprus conducting training for the Armed Forces in munitions disposal and demining, Lieut General Seán Clancy said.
Other Defence Forces personnel were co-ordinating the mission from Germany and Brussels.
As reported, in Great Britain, instructors of the Norwegian National Guard are training Ukrainian servicemen to conduct combat operations in a wooded area.
