Japan grants Ukraine ₴80 mln for medical equipment
Ukraine will receive a grant of nearly UAH 80 million from Japan for the purchase of special medical equipment, namely endoscopes.
The press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported this.
As noted, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine [the Ukrainian government – ed.] approved the project of the Agency Agreement on the implementation of Japanese grant aid. The agreement will be concluded between the government of Ukraine and Crown Agents Japan Limited.
This grant from Japan will make it possible to provide even more Ukrainian doctors and hospitals with modern medical equipment and, therefore, to make quality medical care more accessible to Ukrainian patients.
It should be noted that the Austrian partners handed over four ambulances for the medical facilities of the Kyiv region that were destroyed as a result of armed Russian aggression.
For reference:
In response to Russia's full–scale aggression, the Government of Japan has been providing Ukraine with various forms of support in line with its Three Principles on the Transfer of Defense Equipment and Technology. This includes non–lethal defense equipment such as bulletproof vests and helmets, drones, and mine detectors, as well as technical training in mine detection equipment.
Japan has also announced a financial support package of roughly 5.5 billion U.S. dollars, including 900 million dollars in humanitarian assistance and 470 million dollars in bilateral grant aid for non–lethal defense equipment and energy sector support.
Additionally, Japan has procured Ukrainian sunflower and corn seeds to help smallholder farmers, prioritizing women and youths, and extended living-expense support to Ukrainian evacuees in Japan.
