Cycling marathon kicks off in Ukraine's western Lviv region to fundraise for army
The national bicycle marathon "Lviv Hundred" began in Ukraine's western Lviv region.
The Lviv Regional Military Administration press service reports that there are more than half a thousand cyclist participants.
What is the problem?
The Russian army is many times superior in the number of troops and equipment at the front line. Civilians are trying in every way to help our defenders by providing everything they need: from uniforms to equipment.
What is the solution?
The Lviv region's bicycle marathon is taking place for the fourteenth time and second year in a row with a charity purpose. This time, participants will financially help Ukrainian defenders with their initial contribution.
How does it work?
This year, the competition takes place in a new format. To become a participant in the competition, you need the following:
- register using the link on the Lviv Bicycle Club website;
- make an initial charity contribution of UAH 100 or more at your discretion;
- overcome a distance of 100 km on a bicycle in the period from 27.04 to 23.05. Those who are in Lviv and its surroundings ride the traditional track. Participants from other cities and countries choose the route independently;
- add a link to your track in Strava on the event page on the club website;
- enter data for sending commemorative cat magnets by Nova Poshta on the same page.
On May 23, at 11:59 p.m., the organizers will close the protocol, tally up the totals, and hand over the raised amount (except for the cost of printing commemorative magnets) to the Come Back Alive fund.
