Ukraine's digital ministry delivers another 100 drones to soldiers

Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation delivered 100 Phoenix 03 Heavy unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV) with the first-person view (FPV) to the front line.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Innovations, Development of Education, Science, and Technologies, Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, reported on the Telegram messaging app that the drones were purchased through the UNITED24 fundraising platform.

"We delivered 100 Phoenix 03 Heavy UCAV FPV drones have already been delivered to the front, so soon the enemy will lose a lot of equipment," Fedorov said.

The Phoenix drone delivers an explosive munition to a human-selected target. The drone can loiter over an area for up to six hours and can conduct surveillance. It is effective against medium-armored ground targets. It has infrared sensors for night operations.

The Minister also thanked everyone for supporting the Army of Drones project and emphasized that the more drones there are at the front, the more lives of Ukrainian defenders are saved.

As reported, "Army of Drones" is a project initiated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. This comprehensive program provides the systematic purchase of drones and their repair and training courses for relevant specialists. The project started on July 1, 2022.

On April 24, 100 kamikaze drones purchased with funds raised through United24 were sent to Ukrainian service members in the Bakhmut area in the Donetsk region, the most prominent flashpoint on the Ukrainian frontline.
