Solution to win: Slovaks plan to raise €1,2 mln to purchase modernized tank for Ukraine

The Slovak "Gift to Ukraine" NGO started raising funds to buy a modernized tank with ammunition for the Ukrainian military.
They plan to collect €1.2 million, Denník N. reports.
What is the problem?
As Russia unravels its brutal war in Ukraine, it exceeds the state's resources in equipment and personnel. Since the spring of last year, Ukraine has been asking its partners for Western tanks.
The country was negotiating the supply of German battle tanks with the former Minister of Defense Christina Lambrecht, but the decision was adopted under the new Minister Boris Pistorius.
So far, nine countries have pledged to provide Ukraine with more than 150 Leopard tanks. However, this is not enough to launch a counteroffensive and liberate the occupied territories.
What is the solution?
The initiative belongs to the Mutsky family, owners of a Bratislava atelier for tailoring menʼs suits.
It is time for Slovakia to make a big gesture to show that it is on the side of Ukraine. Send a signal that the majority of Slovaks want Ukraine to win, Nikolas Mutska noted on behalf of the family.
How does it work?
On the official website of the initiative, you can see that almost 31,000 euros have already been collected for the purchase of the tank.

The collection began on May 1, the total amount will be transferred to the defense company, and then the tank will be transferred to the Armed Forces. The transportation of the combat vehicle will be handled by the Embassy of Ukraine in Slovakia.
It is planned to be handed over in September of this year.
Slovakia has transferred all promised MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine. All 13 planes are already in Ukraine.
