EU allocates €2 bln in ammunition for Ukraine
The European Union will provide Ukraine with ammunition worth 2 billion euros.
Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported this on Telegram.
"The EU will provide Ukraine with 2 billion euros worth of ammunition. EU member states will send 1 billion euros worth of ammunition from their warehouses. The European Union will allocate another 1 billion euros for their further joint purchases for Ukraine," he wrote.
Shmyhal also noted that Europe is increasing the production capacity of ammunition, and 1 billion euros will be mobilized for this as well.
"All this will bring our victory and peace in Europe closer. We are grateful to the European Commission for its active work, fair position, and solidarity with Ukraine," the Prime Minister emphasized.

The European Commission adopted the Act in Support of Ammunition Production (ASAP) to implement the decision of the European Council to increase the capabilities of the defense industry, including for the urgent supply of ammunition to Ukraine.
