Ukraine’s digital ministry partners with Google to offer online course about AI for business

With the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Google Ukraine is launching a free AI Basics course to help Ukrainians develop practical skills in using artificial intelligence.

What is the problem?

Education can be a way to adapt to the future. Now people need to learn differently to prepare for life and change the philosophy of education from memorizing information to searching for meaning in data sets. 

We must revise educational standards and programs if we approach each person as a future inventor and innovator. 

What is the solution?

The Diia.Business initiative by Ukraine's digital ministry reported that  Google Ukraine implements this program in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Office for Entrepreneurship and Export Development, Diia.Business and Projector Institute.

The course would be helpful to Ukrainians, both with experience in technical specialties and without background. It will benefit entrepreneurs who want to know whether they need artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) for their business and how they can be used to improve efficiency.

During the course, participants will learn how to:

• understand the concept of artificial intelligence, even if they are not developers, and know whether they or their business need artificial intelligence;
• more effectively use artificial intelligence and machine learning for business development, as well as for personal development;
• apply ready-made ML solutions in various fields, from marketing to catering management, even without coding knowledge;
• build business transformation strategies with ML, and form an ML team.

How does it work?

The course follows the "from simple to more complex" principle. First, at lectures and workshops, participants will learn what artificial intelligence is and why it is needed. After that, they learn about ready-made AI-based solutions that can be applied even without any prior coding knowledge.

Ultimately, the course will conclude with an in-depth study of strategies for implementing machine learning in a company and building a technical team to support such efforts.

During the course, participants will receive:

• Hands-on skills in AI/ML applications for non-technical people.
• A series of lectures from speakers from Google and other companies on how to understand AI/ML.
• Workshops with step-by-step instructions on how to use AI solutions in various fields.
• Individual consultations on the implementation of AI/ML in business.
• Ability to get rewards for correct answers in quizzes.

How to participate?

Training will begin on May 16, 2023. To participate, Ukrainians who wish to participate must register.
