Solutions to win: Ukrainian volunteer engineers develop cruise missile "Trembita"
Ukrainian designers are creating a small cruise missile "Trembita" with a pulsating jet engine.
Rubryka writes about this.
What is the problem?
The report indicates that Ukraine is facing an acute shortage of ammunition, resulting in the need to make do with shells.
It is estimated that Ukrainian forces fire approximately 7,700 shells daily, amounting to approximately one shot every six seconds.
According to the media, Russia, which also has a shortage of ammunition, shoots about three times more than Ukraine.
What is the solution?
In Ukraine, volunteer engineers create a cruise missile "Trembita"."
How does it work?
The team of volunteers headed by Serhiy Biriukov is engaged in development.
Mr. Biriukov indicated that the existing manufacturing technology for individual components of the missile system would enable mass production, thereby neutralizing the risk of destruction of the production facilities by a pinpoint missile strike from the aggressor.
The missile is intended to hit priority targets, such as:
- air defense equipment,
- ammunition depots,
- places of concentration of enemy personnel.
For this, there is a thermobaric or combined high-explosive warhead weighing 20 kg. The launch can be carried out using a pneumatic catapult or a solid-fuel accelerator.
The developers note that the missile has an adequate effective dispersion area and a prominent thermal signature to be identified by adversary radar systems as a priority target. This was deliberately designed to compel the enemy to expend expensive anti–aircraft missiles on inexpensive and abundant "Trembits", which will deplete the capabilities of air defense systems.
The deployment of these projectiles will enable the circumventing of hostile anti–aircraft defenses, thereby granting a tactical advantage over the opposing forces.
The inventors also attribute reliability to the advantages of the rocket.
Its engine is simple to manufacture, has no moving parts, and runs on regular gasoline. The significant engine noise will be a concomitant psycho-emotional factor for the personnel of the aggressor's units.
Technical characteristics of the rocket:
Equipped weight: 100 kg;
Weight of the warhead: 20 kg;
Range of damage: more than 140 km;
Speed: over 400 km/h;
Maximum flight height: 2000 m;
Minimum flight height: 30 m;
Engine: 30 l.
The developers are currently looking for more people to join their team. Everyone is invited: like-minded people, partners, specialists, contractors, and volunteers.
