Solutions to win: Ukrainians create Sky Watch interactive map to track enemy missiles
The interactive map of the movement of enemy missiles, Sky Watch, was developed by the Ukrainian company SCAT.in.ua.
Rubryka writes about this, referring to sky-watch-ua.
What is the problem?
Since October 10 last year, Ukrainian cities have been subjected to massive rocket attacks. Hundreds of rockets were fired across Ukraine, hitting civilian homes and energy facilities and claiming dozens of Ukrainian lives.
For instance, only recently, on the morning of April 28, Russian forces conducted a missile strike on Uman in the Cherkasy region, resulting in approximately 10 apartment buildings sustaining damage, with one of the buildings having its entire entrance destroyed.
In Uman, the number of people killed as a result of a Russian missile attack reached 23 people, including 6 children. Two women are missing.
What is the solution?
The interactive map was created so that people could see the direction of the rocket's flight.
How does it work?
A user must use the map with geolocation enabled. If a person hears or sees a rocket, he/she should press the button on the map.
A visual indicator will be displayed on the interface, indicating the location of the missile, and its color will vary depending on the elapsed time since the attack.
If other people react to the missile, its approximate flight path will be displayed on the map online. The more people use the map, the more accurate the result will be.
The developers of Sky Watch claim that a test version with the simplest functionality is currently available, which can be improved later as needed.
