Slovak president visits basement in Ukraine's town of Yahidne where Russians kept 400 civilians
During her visit to Ukraine, Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová saw the infamous school basement in the village of Yahidne in the northern Chernihiv region
Russian occupying forces held several hundred people captive for almost a month.
Slovak leader spoke about this trip in a Twitter post and emphasized that those involved in all war crimes should not go unpunished.
Words can't describe the horrors of #Russia's occupation in Yahidne: 367 people were kept in school basement & 11 died. Crimes against humanity are a deliberate decision to sow fear & suffering. We must help bring justice & accountability for all war crimes committed in #Ukraine. pic.twitter.com/N44hBj8HKL

The President of Slovakia arrived in Ukraine on the morning of April 28 together with the Czech leader Petr Pavel. This is his first visit to Ukraine as a state leader.
After the first day of trips to the north of Kyiv region and key meetings in the capital, the presidents stayed overnight.
This is a rather rare occasion for visits by top foreign officials during a full-scale war.
On the evening of April 28, they had to hold one of the meetings in a shelter because of a new air raid.
