Ukraine should enter EU as soon as possible – Italy's president
Ukraine is actively carrying out reforms to meet the criteria for membership in the European Union.
The accession may take place in the near future, says Italy's president Sergio Mattarella during his meeting with Ukraine's PM Denys Shmygal.

Mattarella said the defense of the independence, liberty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine is a fundamental value for all the countries of the world.
Everyone wants peace, but it must be a just peace that respects Ukraine's integrity, he stressed.
Issues of nuclear safety, reconstruction, and peace negotiations were also discussed at the meeting.

On Thursday, April 27, Pope Francis will have a meeting with Ukraine's PM Denys Shmyhal. The meeting will take place on the eve of the pontiff's apostolic visit to Hungary.
