USAID announces grant program for family and women-owned enterprises in Ukraine

The USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program announces a grant program of 1.5 million dollars for small and medium-sized family and women-owned enterprises.

The press service of the Ministry of Economy reported this.

Within the scope of this initiative, grants ranging from 10,000 to 35,000 US dollars will be made available for relocation measures, establishing a new working area, scaling of business on Ukrainian territory, entering international markets, implementing innovative solutions, and optimizing business processes.

The grant program is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine within the framework of government initiatives to support micro, small, and medium-sized businesses named "eRobota," aimed at creating jobs and opening new or expanding existing businesses.

"Small and medium-sized businesses are the basis of a stable economy. Therefore, the state is interested in stimulating its growth. We value our cooperation with USAID, especially with the Competitive Economy Program. We expect that this joint project will give impetus to the development of SMEs, contribute to the creation of new jobs, and become an additional stimulus for the reindustrialization of Ukraine," Yuliia Svyridenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, said.

According to the press service, applications for participation in the program will be accepted until July 24, 2023, inclusively. Given the significant interest, applications will be accepted and reviewed in several stages: May 19, June 16, and July 24.

The USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program prioritizes providing grant support to industries including the production of cosmetics, textiles, household items, craft production, food processing, IT, furniture, and other products.

Nevertheless, applications from other sectors that meet the selection criteria are accepted.
