Russian forces kill one civilian and wound ten in rocket strike on Kupiansk

The Russian army struck the center of the eastern city of Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, with S-300 missiles on Tuesday, April 25.  

Rubryka reports, referring to the statements of the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Sinehubov, and the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, on the Telegram messaging app, that the Museum of Local History building was struck by the missile.

Sinehubov stressed that the Russian forces continued attacking Kupiansk. "According to preliminary information, five civilians were injured, and at least two more people are under the rubble," Sinehubov wrote. "All emergency services are on site. The information is being clarified." 

Chief-of-staff Yermak also reported on the shelling of the city and posted a video of a Russian missile hitting it.

Later, President Zelensky reported that the shelling killed one museum employee and wounded ten.

"Kupiansk, the city center, the museum of local history. The terrorist country is doing everything to eradicate us, our history, culture, and people, killing Ukrainians with ruthless methods," Zelensky stated. "We have no right to forget about it for a second. We must and will answer!"

He added that there were still people under the rubble. The rescuers continue eliminating the consequences of shelling continues. All necessary services are involved.

"The eternal memory to the dead and condolences to the relatives. The responsibility of all those guilty of these war crimes will come, and it will be merciless," the Head of State emphasized.

According to the General Staff,  the Russian forces continue to fortify positions in separate areas in the direction of Kupiansk, the easternmost city in the Kharkiv region that borders the Luhansk region in the east.

The settlements of Topoli, Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Fyholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kindrashivka, Masiutivka, Kislivka in the Kharkiv region and Novoselivske in the Luhansk region were shelled by Russian artillery and mortar attacks.

On March 26, the Russian invaders also shelled Kupuansk. A private house and a high-rise building were struck with no casualties. Earlier, Synehubov suggested population evacuation from certain settlements of the Kupiansk district that is continuously shelled by the Russian army.
