Patriot air and missile defense systems received from international partners significantly strengthened Ukraine's air defense.

They will allow keeping Russian planes away from the border, says Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat.

From now on, we have become stronger in certain areas where the enemy will use its Su-35s to drop aerial bombs. At least, Russian planes will stay a little further from our border. I note that the issue can be completely resolved with the arrival of the F-16 aircraft.

The latter will be able to promptly respond to the actions of the occupiers and be where they need to be, he said.

He added that for more than a year of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, numerous attacks by Russian drones and missiles have somewhat exhausted Ukrainian air defense, so it needs to be strengthened.

Patriot air defense systems from the United States of America, the Netherlands, and Germany arrived in Ukraine. The day before, General Mark Milley, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, announced that another 65 Ukrainian military personnel had completed training on Patriot systems.

The 11th meeting of Ukraine's defense allies in the Ramstein format took place in Germany.

According to the results of which, it was announced that the participants of "Ramstein" handed over to Ukraine more than 230 tanks, more than 1550 units of armored vehicles, and other equipment.

Ukraine's defense minister Oleksii Reznikov says the main need is air defense systems.
