Ukrainian shipping company to open hub promoting greener practices in maritime transport
The Danube Shipping Company started to create a green hub for the maintenance of ships and a system for disposing of waste contaminated with petroleum products.
General Director of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company, Dmytro Moskalenko, announced this on his Facebook page.
"The green course for the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company is more than a matter of ecology and environmental protection. This is the question of the future of our enterprise," Moskalenko noted.
The enterprise started modernizing the fleet, installing more economical and high-performance engines.
The company has implemented an online monitoring and control system optimizing freight tasks and reducing fuel consumption. Some developments are unique and have already attracted the interest of other Danube companies.
The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company is a shipping company that transports cargo and passengers by sea and river transport, 100% of whose shares belong to the state.
