Kyiv region's authorities launch first global tree planting campaign
Kyiv region's authorities launch the first global tree planting campaign in the city of war-torn Irpin.
This event will be held on World Earth Day, local authorities report.
The "1 million trees for life" campaign is aimed at planting 1 million trees at 70 cities in Ukraine and 30 countries worldwide via online meetings.
The goal of the campaign is to restore the ecosystem and unite people from all over the world around the initiative.
Authorities also will support the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the "1000 drones for Ukraine" project.
The central location of the action will be in Irpin, where about 50 trees will be planted in memory of the defenders of Ukraine and residents who died as a result of the full-scale war, the city authorities reported.
The event will take place on April 22 at 12:00.
The Gen.Ukrainian NGO will hold the Spilka Charity Market in Kyiv on April 23 to support children who lost their parents due to the war.
