Kyiv terminates land lease agreement with Russian embassy

The Kyiv City Council has terminated the land lease agreement with the Russian embassy in Kyiv.

The decision was supported by 73 deputies of the council, the capital's major Vitalii Klitschko reports.

Today, Kyiv City Council terminated the land lease agreement with the embassy of the aggressor country – Russia, he said.

It also appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regarding the return of the property of Russia's 'diplomatic institution' to the Ukrainian state.

The lease agreement was signed between the Kyiv City Council and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ukraine in 1999.

Deputies approved this decision in light of Ukraine's MFA's statement on ending diplomatic relations with Russia and Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
