Ukrainian border guards repelled two Russian attacks in Bakhmut on Easter
In Bakhmut, Donetsk region, border guards repelled two Russian attacks and eliminated six invaders, wounding five more.
The State Border Service reported this.
"Border units, as part of the Defense Forces, are engaged in heavy fighting with Russian troops for Bakhmut. Yesterday, enemy forces attacked the stronghold of the border guards twice. The Russians made the first attempt to break through after lunch. During the long battle, the soldiers of the State Border Service repulsed the assault group," the message reads.
The enemy resumed the offensive in a few hours, bringing in additional infantry and increasing artillery fire. Two enemy groups of attackers tried to surround the position.
"The border guards discovered the invaders' intentions, carried out a maneuver, and engaged in a shooting battle. Battles at short distances continued until the night; the invaders were stopped at the line of defense. According to the day's results, the enemy's approximate losses amounted to 11 people: 6 killed and five wounded", – the State Border Service added.
