Ukrainian Superhumans initiative launches prosthetic clinic in Lviv region
Superhumans Center, responsible for prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, and rehabilitation for victims of war, was launched in the Lviv region.
All services will be free of charge, Maksym Kozytsky, head of the Lviv regional military administration, reports.
The first part of the clinic has now been opened. These departments are operating now:
- a laboratory where prostheses are manufactured and assembled;
- aquatic therapy pool;
- the first part of the physical rehabilitation department;
- psychological rehabilitation;
- museum of prostheses.
The best Ukrainian specialists will work here. European and American doctors will regularly consult them. In a year, the Superhumans Center will be able to receive up to three thousand patients. No one needs to travel abroad to seek necessary assistance anymore.
The American businessman Howard Buffett is one of the clinic's ambassadors. During the clinic's opening, he handed over a check worth $1 million for prostheses to Ukrainian soldiers.
Another Ukrainian initiative Nezlamni ("Unbreakable"), opened its treatment center in the city of Lviv. Ten prosthetics specialists, backed by the Maltese Aid Service and the government of Germany, will design 100 devices for Ukrainians wounded and injured in the hostilities.
