Defense Ministry commends Ukrainian doctors for saving lives on the front lines
Ukrainian surgeons perform unique operations, saving the lives of defenders of the armed forces.
Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar stated at a briefing that the professionalism of the doctors and the planned evacuation could reduce the mortality rate among wounded soldiers, RBC-Ukraine reports.
"Our military surgeons performed unique operations. Some of them even have no analogs worldwide, and we are trying to inform about it," she said.
Maliar noted that Ukrainian military surgeons restore lost limbs and perform operations even when the patient's heart is damaged. Doctors often bring people back to life, even when it seems this can no longer be done.
"The indicators show the lethality is much lower in our war than during combat operations in Iraq or Afghanistan. This is also an achievement of our military medics. With qualified medical aid to the battlefield and planned evacuation, it was possible to reduce the level of lethality today our wounded significantly," said Malyar.
As reported, Ukrainian medics removed the warhead of a VOG grenade from the body of a wounded soldier.
Ukrainian doctors will undergo training in Poland to treat people with severe burns.
