Eurovision 2023: #HelpUkraineSong flash mob in support of Ukraine launched in Liverpool

#HelpUkraineSong flash mob started in Liverpool, UK, supporting Ukraine. The organizers say they want it to be the world's biggest ever physical and digital flash mob — united through music with Ukraine.

You can join it from any corner of the world, and it will end on the last day of Eurovision — May 13.

Rubryka reports, citing the statements of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and the Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko on the Telegram messaging app, that the slogan of this year's music competition is "United by music."

The solidarity action will take place on the initiative of the creative company Aurora with the support of the National Museums of Liverpool, War Child, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, and Hoshva PR & DGTL.

"National Museums Liverpool is proud to host the Help Ukraine Song movement and create a meaningful moment of solidarity with Ukraine," said National Museums Liverpool's Executive Director of Audience and Media, David Watson.

It is reported that the flash mob aims not only to express its solidarity with Ukraine. It aims to encourage citizens to donate to the War Child fund. It is the only specialized charity for children affected by war.

"Anyone who wants to can join the action, both in person on the last day of Eurovision at 12:00 p.m. British time (2:00 p.m. Kyiv time) and online by singing The Beatles' song 'With A Little Help From My Friends.' The video with your version of the song performance can be uploaded to any social media channel with the hashtag #HelpUkraineSong on the eve and the day of the Eurovision Song Contest," the head of the ministry explained.

Past and present Ukrainian Eurovision contestants and the Ukrainian public will participate in the events live or online. Leading musicians and ambassadors will also support this movement around the world.

Partner organizations: museums, art galleries, theaters, businesses, sports, and community organizations, involve musicians, artists, and dancers. They also plan to organize flash mobs for public members on the landmark Saturday, May 13, 2023, at noon.

Despite the victory of the Ukrainian band Kalush in Eurovision 2022, Great Britain is hosting the song contest on behalf of Ukraine this year because of the war unleashed by Russia.

The Beatles statue in Liverpool was dressed in traditional Ukrainian clothes for the BBC filming dedicated to this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

Figures of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and John Lennon are now dressed in white embroidery and will be featured in coverage of next month's event.
