Security service opens investigation of brutal murder of Ukrainian officer by Russian troops

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) started a pre-trial investigation into the brutal murder of a Ukrainian soldier by Russian troops.
Rubryka reports, citing the SBU's statement, that a video of the execution, probably of a Ukrainian soldier, appeared on the Internet yesterday.
The footage shows the Russian troops cutting off the head of a living person wearing a uniform with Ukrainian insignia with a knife. At the end of the video, the Russians show the severed head to the camera and say that it should be sent to the commander of the tortured soldier.
The SBU reports that the law enforcement officers have opened a case under Part 2 of Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
"We will find these non-humans. We will get them wherever they are: from underground or from the other world if necessary. But they will be punished for what they have done," the SBU chief, Vasyl Maliuk, stressed.
The Ukrainian security forces believe that in the video of a war crime that appeared on the Internet on April 11, the Russian invaders "show their beastly nature."
The Office of the President of Ukraine promised that the aggressor would bear responsibility for his actions.
The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense reacted to the harsh execution of a soldier. Andrii Yusov, an intelligence representative, noted that the department is conducting a detailed check of the content of the execution video and establishing the soldier's identity.
"We are talking about an illegal execution by a terrorist, and this is another fact of violation of all possible and impossible norms and rules of warfare," he said. "This is a fact that the world must pay attention to, not only with sympathy but also by working together to bring all those responsible to justice."
Yusov emphasized that not only the perpetrators are to blame. Videos posted on social media are evidence that such a genocidal policy is a purposeful state policy of the Russian Federation.
Russian non-humans publish similar content once every few weeks or a month. Recently, we saw a video of the execution of a Ukrainian fighter for saying "Glory to Ukraine."
Yusov is sure that the purpose of such a policy, in particular, is an attempt to demoralize and sow panic in the Ukrainian Defense Forces to intimidate them. They fail, he summarized.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, also reacted to the video.
"This is not an accident. This is not an episode. It happened before; it happened in Bucha — thousands of times. Everyone must react, every leader. Do not expect that it will be forgotten, that time will pass," he said.
"There is something that no one in the world can ignore: how easily these beasts kill," he stated. "We are not going to forget anything. Neither are we going to forgive the murderers. There will be legal responsibility for everything. The defeat of terror is necessary."
CNN reported today that there was yet another video of the execution of the Ukrainian soldier.
