A clinic was rebuilt in Makariv, Kyiv region, which experienced Russian shelling and occupation.

Rubryka reports, referring to Ukraine's Ministry of Health, that the Russian invaders shelled the clinic during their attack from the north on the country's capital.

What is the problem?

The Makariv clinic was destroyed in March 2022 during the temporary seizure of the region. The building burned to the ground from a direct hit by a Russian projectile.

What is the solution?

The medical facility was rebuilt by the joint efforts of the Ministry of Health, the Charity Fund of the Kyiv School of Economics "KSE Foundation," the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, and numerous Ukrainian and international benefactors.

"In a few months, we started work on its reconstruction to restore residents' access to primary medical care," said Health Minister Viktor Lyashko. "About 16,000 people came here before the war. The restored dispensary symbolizes our invincibility, of the fact that no matter what blows the enemy inflicts, victory is ours. We will rebuild even better on the site of the destroyed."

The health minister thanked all partners who joined the reconstruction project and supported it with funds and expertise.

"Our strength is in unity. We were once again convinced of this during the implementation of this project," said Lyashko.

How does it work?

The new modern clinic was built according to the best international standards. The medical facility will be equipped to open its doors to patients shortly.

The newly built general practice of family medicine will ensure unimpeded access to primary medical care for patients from Makariv and surrounding settlements.

"Today, the question is often asked: is it necessary to rebuild Ukraine now while the war continues? But the point is to show that people have the right to quality medicine and can get it during wartime. " No need to wait," said Tymofii Mylovanov, the Kyiv School of Economics president. "The better we all work together now, the sooner the war will end. And this clinic is an example of the fact that we win together. This reconstruction became possible thanks to all of you."

The clinic construction was completed in less than a year. The newly constructed medical facility will serve more than 16,000 patients.

"This year, through the joint efforts of the government and business, we showed an example of how the principles of 'Build Back Better' are implemented in practice. We are rebuilding medical facilities on the site of destroyed outpatient clinics according to the best international standards. After all, Ukrainians should already be provided with high-quality services in modern medical institutions," said Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Vlasiuk.

The Ministry of Health noted that Russia has already damaged 1,236 medical facilities since the full-scale invasion and destroyed another 176.
