The National Police have found 1,374 bodies of civilians massacred by Russian occupiers in the Kyiv region.

Andrii Nebytov, head of the National Police Department in the Kyiv region, said at a briefing on April 11 that 195 bodies have not yet been identified, and 279 people are considered missing.

"One of the main aspects of the work of the police of the Kyiv region is the identification of the bodies of citizens who died (during the occupation). Today this figure is 1,374 people. These are civilians who were killed. Seven hundred seventeen of them were killed with small arms. That is, more than half were shot deliberately," the head of the National Police stressed. "Unfortunately, 195 bodies still remain unidentified. DNA was taken from them, so we ask everyone… to provide information so that we can identify absolutely all Ukrainians who died in the Kyiv region during the occupation."

Nebytov clarified that 340 people died from landmine and shrapnel wounds. The cause of death of 317 people has not been established.

The head of the regional police also reported that, at the moment, 279 people are considered missing.

"There is information that people are also in the territory of the Russian Federation. They were brought there forcibly in the so-called 'evacuations.' We understand that some of these people are in prison, and the Russians are likely preparing an exchange fund for themselves," the police officer emphasized.
