Ukrainian oil company Ukrnafta to drill at least three new wells during 2023
PJSC Ukrnafta, Ukraine's oil and natural gas extracting company, plans to drill at least three new wells in 2023 and drill side shafts in three more wells.
The company's director, Serhii Koretskyi, announced this, the press service reports.
"This is the basic drilling plan – the minimum we set for ourselves. There will be shallow wells of 1,100-2,200 m. Moreover, we plan to conduct seismic procedure and, based on the results, we may drill another well," he said.
Koretskyi clarified that the company plans to drill with its machines, such as "Uralmash 3D-76" and ZJ-40, which are outdated but are in satisfactory working condition and allow drilling to small depths.
For the current year, Ukrnafta plans to conduct 14 hydraulic fracturing operations and three more operations on injection wells.
"Since the beginning of the year, we have already carried out two fracturing operations, including one on an injection well using the unique Fly Ash Frac technology, which is waste from the operation of Ukrainian thermal power plants. This technology allows for at least three times the operational cost compared to traditional proppant," the Ukrnafta chief added.
As Rubryka reported, despite the full-scale war unleashed by russia in Ukraine, JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia gas extracting company drilled 47 new wells in 2022. Production rates in the east of Ukraine are falling, while in the west, they are increasing. The company was able to achieve record drilling rates.
