The corresponding decree No. 196/2023 is published on the head of the state's website.
"To form a delegation from Ukraine to participate in negotiations between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland regarding the preparation of a draft Treaty between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland on Amendments to the Treaty between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil and Criminal Cases," the document reads.
Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Iryna Mudra was appointed the delegation's head.
The remaining five members are officials of the Department of International Law of the Ministry of Justice, the Department of Analytical and Legal Work of the Supreme Court, the Directorate for Legal Policy of the Office of the President, and the Department of International Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
According to the decree, the head of the delegation is allowed, if necessary, to make changes to the composition of the delegation, involving in its work members of the Expert Commission for the preparation of draft international treaties of Ukraine on legal relations and legal assistance in civil, criminal and administrative cases, formed by the decree of the President of Ukraine No. 724/ 2010.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (the Ukrainian government) is entrusted with financing the expenses related to the participation of the Ukrainian delegation in the negotiations with Poland.
The decree also approved the directives the Ukrainian delegation should be guided by in its work.
