Second group of Ukrainian artillerymen completes AS90 howitzers training in Britain
The second group of Ukrainian gunners has completed training on the AS90 self-propelled gun in the United Kingdom.
The program is part of the UK's enduring commitment to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia, the British defense ministry reports.
Ukrainian crews began their training in early February 2023.

Military instructors from the Swedish Armed Forces, as part of the basic combined military training of the Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel in the United Kingdom, conducted classes for Ukrainian forces on the organization and conduct of ambushes and combat operations in forested areas.
The UK announced the allocation of military support to Ukraine in the amount of 2.3 billion pounds or even more in 2023 – this amount was allocated to Ukraine in 2022.
Since the beginning of the year, Great Britain has committed to providing Ukraine with a squadron of 14 Challenger 2 main battle tanks with training, ammunition, and spare parts. And also the AS90 self-propelled gun.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Challenger 2 tanks would be followed by about 30 large AS90 self-propelled guns.
On March 8, top EU diplomat Josep Borrell said EU member states would complete the training of 11,000 Ukrainian servicemen by the end of March, and the number of trained military specialists will reach 30,000 by the end of the year.
