North Korea accuses Ukraine of "calling for nuclear weapons"

North Korea's Kim Yo Jong, sister of leader Kim Jong Un, accused Ukraine of calling for nuclear weapons.
She backed her assertion on the basis of a relevant online petition in Ukraine which was signed by almost 1,000 signatures so far, the state's information agency reports.
Kim Yo Jong said the petition could be a political plot by Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky without giving any details.
After putin's announcement on russia planning to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in belarus, a public petition was filed on the Ukrainian presidential office's website that called for Kyiv to host plant weapons on Ukrainian territory.
The petition also asked for Ukraine to be armed with its own nuclear weapons.
"This is a plausible veil of the public's expression of will, but it is not hard to guess that it is a product of the Zelenskiy authorities' sinister political plot." the statement says.
She stated that Ukrainian officials "repeatedly openly expressed their nuclear ambitions" and also accused the Ukrainian authorities of "grandiosity about the ability to defeat russia."
"The Zelensky authorities, who always look up at their master and chant prayers of begging and solicitation, are not rivals of russia, and if they are focused on nuclear daydream as now, they will be a more vivid target in russia's nuclear sighting." Kim Yo Jong added.
Talks about the alleged spread of American nuclear weapons in Europe intensified after Ukraine expressed concern over the transfer to belarus of the russian Iskander complex, which can be a carrier of nuclear weapons, and the construction of a special storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons.
To discuss this, at Ukraine's demand, the UN Security Council convened an extraordinary meeting. russia's representative shifted the blame to the United States, accusing it of the collapse of nuclear security treaties and the alleged location of 100-150 American tactical nuclear bombs in Europe.
russia stated that it is building its cooperation with belarus without violating its international obligations on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. belarus announced the deployment of nuclear weapons on its territory is "only a response step" due to concerns and risks in the field of national security.
