russia's losses in Ukraine exceed 220,000 troops — British defense minister
At least 220,000 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded in action during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Ben Wallace, the head of the British defense ministry, said this in London at a joint press conference with Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonsson.
"According to the latest US data I have seen, the number of dead or wounded russians (in Ukraine – ed.) exceeds 220,000," he said.
According to Wallace, this demonstrates the continuation of huge losses among russians, and therefore he further calls on them to withdraw their troops from the sovereign territory of Ukraine.
The minister noted that Britain and international allies would continue to support Ukraine by providing military aid.
