Germany to provide €12 bln in military aid to Ukraine

On March 29, the budget committee of the Bundestag in Germany approved the provision of another 12 billion euros for military aid to Ukraine.

Reuters reports this.

Additional funding provides that 3.24 billion euros will be allocated to Ukraine for the current year, and another 8.82 billion euros will be provided until 2032.

"Thanks to this money, Ukraine will be able to buy weapons directly with the German government's support. It is important to support Ukraine as much as it takes," the statement said.

It is also known that since the beginning of the full-scale russian war, the German government allocated more than 14.2 billion euros to support Ukraine, including 3 billion euros for military aid to Kyiv.

For reference:

Germany has handed over to the Ukrainian side all 18 Leopard 2 battle tanks that were promised. It is also reported that 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles have arrived in the country.

During the past two months, the Bundeswehr has trained Ukrainian soldiers to use complex weapons systems under an accelerated program. Also, Ukrainian technicians, who were trained by technical service specialists from among German military personnel, arrived in Germany.

Leopard 2 is considered one of the most modern main battle tanks on the world arms market. It outperforms russian tanks mainly due to its more powerful firepower, which usually allows it to destroy enemy targets with the first shot.
