Zelensky pledges to rebuild what russia destroyed on his visit to war-torn Kherson region

On Thursday, March 23, President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the liberated part of the Kherson region in Ukraine's south, talked with the residents, and promised to restore everything that was destroyed by the russian invaders gradually.

"Working trip to the Kherson region. The village of Posad-Pokrovske, where many buildings and social infrastructure facilities were damaged due to russia's full-scale aggression. Talked with local residents about current issues and needs. We will restore everything, and we will rebuild everything. Just like every city and village that suffered from the occupiers," Zelensky wrote.

It is reported that electricity and water supply are being restored in Posad-Pokrovske, a medical clinic is being rebuilt, and people are already returning to the village.

Zelenskyi said that they would try to complete the main works before winter. Returning electricity to the residents was determined as a priority. And drinking water will still be given according to the schedule.

Zelensky inspected the "point of invincibility" and one of the mobile homes installed in the village.

He also talked with the residents of Posad-Pokrovske and inquired about their current needs. Local residents noted the importance of rebuilding destroyed homes and restoring the electricity supply.

Zelensky also visited one of the region's energy facilities and familiarized himself with the situation regarding providing electricity to settlements in the Kherson region. He was informed about the progress of the restoration of the electricity supply in the de-occupied territories and the repair of equipment destroyed due to russian shelling.

At the same time, the president familiarized himself with the measures taken to counter the russian shelling of Kherson and other settlements in the region.

In the regional center, Zelensky inspected one of the stationary shelters for city residents, which has internet, a generator, and equipped places for rest.

The president was also informed about the work on arranging mobile and stationary shelters in the Kherson region.
