Icelandic parliament recognizes Holodomor, genocide of the Ukrainian people
The Icelandic parliament joined in the chorus and recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR as a genocide of the Ukrainians.
This decision was taken unanimously, Ukraine's President Zelensky says on Twitter.
"I am grateful to Iceland for recognizing the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people, for honoring the memory of millions of Ukrainians killed by the moscow regime. This is a clear signal: such crimes do not go unpunished. And they do not have a statute of limitations," Zelensky emphasized.
In November I visited the Holodomor memorial in Kyiv. It was a heartbreaking reminder of a terrible crime.
