Advantage Ukraine initiative puts forward investment projects for US development funding

The Advantage Ukraine investment platform, created at Ukraine's government's initiative, prepared and directed the first investment projects for consideration by the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) regarding the financing and insurance of war risks.

The Ministry of Economy press service reports that the first five projects have been accepted for consideration by DFC. These are projects by Ukrainian investors in construction, production, e-commerce, and residential real estate.

"The total cost is $430 million. Each of them will be evaluated separately. The project of lending a foreign investor to produce construction materials costs several million," said the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Oleksandr Hryban.

According to him, there are several projects at an early stage of development, which Advantage Ukraine hopes to hand over to DFC soon. In particular, these are projects in logistics, deep agro-processing, energy, animal husbandry, and the production of building materials.

The Ministry of Economy reports that the DFC has announced its readiness to mobilize over $1 billion of private capital to support the economy of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Economy and DFC cooperate in preparing and forming a list of investment projects with the help of Advantage Ukraine. The project team of the initiative works with the support of the USAID Program "Competitive Economy of Ukraine" and carries out a preliminary selection of projects.
