Solution to win: Kyiv metro now equipped with folding chairs for comfortable stay during air raids

Kyiv metro stations are now equipped with additional folding chairs, blankets and mattresses.

The public utility company Kyiv Metropolitan reports this on Facebook.

What's the problem?

Kyiv residents often use the city's metropolitan as a shelter during air raids in Ukraine.

What's the solution?

"In the capital's metro, 46 underground stations have been equipped with additional folding chairs, blankets and mattresses. People can use the chairs during the air raid announcement. To do this, it is necessary to approach the person on duty at the station, who is on the platform," the message says.

How does it work?

The public utility company Kyiv Metropolitan calls to return the chairs to the station employees after the air alarm shutting down and to treat the property with care. Residents should remember that chairs will be used by other people.

The need for each station was formed taking into account its features, passenger traffic and the number of civilians using it as a shelter. In case of prolonged danger (more than 12 hours), the use of blankets and mattresses is provided.

In March, The UN Migration Organization has provided humanitarian aid to the utility company Kyiv Metropolitan. This will make it more comfortable for the residents of Kyiv to stay at underground stations during air alarms.

Kyiv launched the new art train. The wagons display patriotic drawings, words, and phrases that have already become symbolic during the full-scale war. An art train will run along the red line of the metro.
