Zelensky to participate remotely in May G7 summit

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky accepted the invitation to participate in the summit of the "Group of Seven" countries in May in an online format.

He announced this during a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Japan Kishida Fumio, reports Ukrinform.

"Mr. Prime Minister Kishida invited me to participate in the summit of the Group of Seven, which is scheduled for May in the city of Hiroshima. I accepted the invitation to participate in the online format," Zelensky said.

The Prime Minister of Japan arrived in Ukraine on Tuesday, March 21, for high-level talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

It was previously reported that the possible visit of Prime Minister Fumio Kisida to Kyiv faced problems related to security and the difficulty of keeping the schedule and route of the trip a secret.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited Bucha. The head of the Japanese government laid flowers near the church in Bucha and honored the memory of the massacre victims with a moment of silence.

Also, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida signed a joint statement on a special global partnership between the countries.

As Rubryka reported, Japan is considering the possibility of exporting weapons to countries that are fighting the invasion, such as Ukraine.
