The International Fencing Federation (FIE) banned Ukrainian symbols at the Grand Prix in South Korea, where athletes must determine the strongest in foil competition. In particular, representatives of the United States of America were not allowed to enter the track with equipment with blue and yellow colors.

The famous Ukrainian champion Olga Kharlan spoke about this on her page on the social network Instagram.

She noted that American athletes are categorically against the decision of the FIE to resume russia in their tournaments and also support our country.

"Today in South Korea at the Foil Fencing Grand Prix, the US team wore armbands in the colors of the Ukrainian flag as a sign of disagreement with the participation of russians in the competition. The FIE forced them to remove the armbands and banned any Ukrainian symbols on their uniforms. This is unacceptable; open your eyes. Nobody agrees!" Harlan reported.

The American Fencing Federation (USA Fencing) fully supported its athletes and Ukraine.

"USA Fencing wholeheartedly supports our fencers who have decided to demonstrate their solidarity with Ukraine. We believe in the power of sport to bring people together and draw attention to important global issues. We stand with Ukraine," the statement said.

Earlier, Kharlan called the FIE officials selfish. Ukraine explains the return of russia by the fact that FIE representatives are sitting on the salary of russian oligarchs.
