Two more shelters were opened in Ukraine's western Ivano-Frankivsk region for Ukrainians who fled their homes due to russia's full-fledged invasion. From now on, more than a hundred people will be able to live on the premises that have been thoroughly renovated.

Rubryka reports, referring to the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional military administration, Svitlana Onyshchuk.

What is the problem?

Due to russian aggression, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians were left homeless. Someone moved as far as possible from the front line, and someone lost their homes altogether due to russian shelling of civilian infrastructure.

What is the solution?

IDPs often rely on shelters as their temporary housing, so new shelters for displaced persons have opened in Kolomyia. This is the 4th such institution in the city.

The other day, a shelter was also opened in Kosiv, where up to 50 displaced persons will be accommodated.

How does it work?

In Kolomia, the premises of the former kindergarten were equipped for IDPs. The shelter can accommodate up to 60 people. They will be able to live there for 3-6 months. The premises had two kitchens, bathrooms, and a laundry room.

There is a separate game room and a room for training and events.

Kosiv's premises were equipped with heating and water supply systems and sewerage. During the renovation, the roof was insulated, and interior work was done. The shelter bought furniture, kitchen equipment, dishes, and household appliances.

After the victory, the premises will be used for educational or tourist purposes at the community's discretion.

We will remind you that the city of Ivano-Frankivsk will also build 12 multi-story buildings for displaced people.
