For reference:
The Leopard 2 is equipped with a 120 mm smoothbore gun manufactured by Rheinmetall, similar to the M1 Abrams tank. Its ammunition is 27 shells, with 15 additional shells in the stern of the tower. "Leopards" can hit targets at a distance of 2 km. The tank is also equipped with two machine guns. German, Swiss, and Dutch models use different types of this weapon. On board Leopard 2, there are 4750 cartridges for machine guns.
It should be noted that Ukraine received four Leopard 2 from Poland. Also, Poland has already sent ten more tanks.
Meanwhile, Leopard 2 from Germany and Portugal can be delivered to Ukraine by the end of March.
In January, the German government set the task of quickly assembling two tank battalions with Leopard 2 tanks for Ukraine. Usually, in Ukraine, they are equipped with 31 tanks each.
