The Save Pets of Ukraine initiative team published a charity book called "Saving four-legged friends (and people) in Ukraine" about rescuing animals from war.

The number of homeless animals in Ukraine has increased by 20-30% in the rear regions and by 100% or more in the shelters of the frontline regions over the last year due to the full-scale war launched by russia.

The Save Pets of Ukraine initiative team released a charity book with stories about rescuing animals from war. Its name is "Saving four-legged friends (and people) in Ukraine."

"This is a collection of inspiring stories with a happy ending about cats, dogs, and their owners and volunteers who were forced to evacuate from the war and supported each other. And also about people who daily care for a large number of four-legged friends left on the street. These are stories about the way people save animals, and they, in return, save their caring people," the book's authors noted.

How does it work?

The collection aims to draw attention to homeless animals in Ukraine.

Stories of the adoption of four-legged friends can also be found in the book. The collection's authors hope these examples will inspire readers to adopt animals.

"After all, placing homeless animals in a family is the best and most humane way to reduce the number of "tails" in shelters and on the streets. So, a few weeks before the book's release, when the editor of one of the national TV channels found out about it, he signed up for an interview to adopt a cat into his family," Save Pets of Ukraine said.

The book can be bought for a charitable contribution of UAH 200 or more on the initiative's website. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to help homeless animal shelters.
