As a result of a massive russian attack during the night and morning of March 9, five people were killed in the Zolochiv district of Lviv region, the westernmost province bordering Poland.

"An enemy rocket struck a residential area in the Zolochiv district. A fire started. It has already been extinguished.
At this moment, it is known about four dead. These are four adults. Two men and two women," the head of the region reported earlier.
Later, at 9:20, Kozytskyi reported that the number of dead had increased to five. Rescuers found the body of another man, born in 1963, under the rubble.
The head of the region reported that the victims were at home when the rocket struck. He said the fire destroyed three residential buildings, three cars, a garage, and several outbuildings.
In turn, Zolochiv City Mayor Ihor Hrynkiv said that the tragedy happened in the village of Velyka Vilshanytsia.
"A rocket fell on two residential buildings. The houses were completely demolished, completely destroyed. Rescuers, residents, and the police have been working since 4 in the morning. The bodies of four dead people were recently found. Rescuers are still looking for the fifth resident under the rubble," the mayor said.
