Ukraine and US hold talks on russian war crimes and further defense support

As part of the ongoing dialogue with allies, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (OPU), Andrii Yermak, spoke with Jake Sullivan, the US President's national security adviser.

Rubryka reports, citing the OPU, that Yermak talked about the crimes committed by russia against Ukrainians, including kidnapping, deportation, and forced adoption of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories.

He emphasized that those guilty of these crimes against the Ukrainian people should receive a fair punishment according to the law.

Zelesky's chief-of-staff also informed the US partners about the current situation at the front and decisions made by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the military leadership regarding the course of the defense operation in the eastern city of Bakhmut, which has been a center of fierce fighting for seven months.

Separately, the parties discussed current international efforts to provide defense and financial support to Ukraine, which is fighting to liberate its territories from russian occupation.

The head of the President's Office informed his colleague about the large-scale damage to the environment in Ukraine caused by russian aggression. 

Yermak noted that its consequences would affect the ecosystem of the whole of Europe, so the world should make every effort to stop the destructive impact of aggression on the environment and bring russia to justice, as stipulated in the Ukrainian peace formula.

Yermak reportedly thanked the President of the USA, both houses of Congress, and the entire American people for the constant strong support of Ukraine in the struggle for territorial integrity, freedom, and European democratic values.
