USAID launches social media campaign on Ukrainian women's contribution to defense and recovery
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will conduct a social media campaign in March called "New Pages of Ukrainian Heroism."
The action aims to talk about women's contribution to the country's defense and reconstruction, the agency announced on Twitter, Rubryka reports.
"USAID in Ukraine is launching the New Pages of Ukrainian Heroism campaign, designed to tell the stories of women making history thanks to their contributions to defense and reconstruction, made behind the front lines. Follow the campaign on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter throughout March," the post emphasized.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) administrator, Samantha Power, in a video message to Ukrainian women and girls dedicated to Women's History Month, said that she has long admired what they do.
"Ви вражаєте нас усіх своєю сміливістю, стійкістю та своїм внеском у захист того, що вам і нам дороге." Послання для українських жінок і дівчат від Адміністратора @USAID @PowerUSAID, присвячене Місяцю жіночої історії. pic.twitter.com/DFy7GmyEvk

"Since the days of the Maidan [Revolution of Dignity in 2014], you have stood up for the democratic future. In recent years, you have built the rule of law, opposed corruption, held the government accountable, and strengthened state institutions to be fully independent," Power said. "And now you amaze us all with your courage, resilience, and contribution to defending what is precious to you and us. Thank you, we are with you!"
According to the UN decision from 1977, March 8 is celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Struggle for Women's Rights and International Peace.
