russian casualties in Ukraine surpass 200,000 including 1,800 officers – NATO commander

Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, more than 1,800 russian officers have been killed or wounded, and in total, the russian federation has already lost more than 200,000 of its soldiers.

Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Christopher Cavoli, stated this, the European Pravda media writes with reference to Spiegel.

It is noted that the general appeared as the honored guest at a traditional dinner at Hamburg City Hall. Cavoli said that "the scale of this war is incredible."

According to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, russia has already lost more than 2,000 tanks; on average, the russian army fires over 23,000 artillery shells per day.

Cavoli believes that after russia's attack on Ukraine, NATO must adapt to the new reality.

"If somebody comes with a tank, you must have one, too. But one of the lessons of the Cold War is that the weapon's accuracy is what counts.

In addition, the production capacity of the defense industry is essential. The one who can produce the fastest will win the war," he said.

At the same time, the NATO general emphasized the importance of civilian leadership.

"We learned from this conflict that civilian leadership is essential. It can mobilize a nation and inspire partners," Cavoli stressed.

As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the russian aggression, Ukraine's armed forces have eliminated a total of almost 152,200 russian soldiers and more than 800 invaders in the past day alone.
