Ukrainian air defense soon to complete training on Patriot systems – Pentagon
The United States is completing a training course for Ukrainian air defense specialists on Patriot systems at Fort Still, Oklahoma.
General Douglas Sims, the Director of Operations of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, said this on Tuesday during a House Armed Services Committee hearing, reports CNN.
"The US armed forces will soon complete the preparation and equipping of Ukraine's first Patriot battery," the general noted.
He emphasized that this is the first time the Pentagon has disclosed information about when such training may end.
"We are confident that the Ukrainians will use the Patriot systems with the same skill that they demonstrate every day with their existing air defense capabilities," Sims noted.
He also reported that since January, the American military had trained more than a thousand Ukrainians, bringing the total number of trained Ukrainian soldiers to 4,000.
